Supara Chunkurchak ethno-complex to be restored after major fire

The team of the Supara Chunkurchak ethno-complex, which suffered a major fire on November 4, intends to restore the facility while preserving its original concept. In an official statement, representatives of the complex thanked rescuers and guests for their help and support, and also shared details of the incident.

According to the administration, the fire engulfed about 400 m² of the ethno-complex territory in the Chunkurchak gorge. The fire affected the three-story restaurant building and the kitchen area.

Representatives of the complex reported that guests on the premises were evacuated in a timely manner. During the firefighting efforts, it was also possible to prevent the fire from spreading to the adjacent forest.

The statement specifically noted the work of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and fire and rescue units.

The administration emphasized that the asphalt road toward the Chunkurchak gorge, construction of which began in 2025 at the initiative of President Sadyr Japarov and was completed in 2026, allowed specialized equipment to quickly reach the fire scene.

The team also thanked visitors for numerous messages of support and readiness to help in eliminating the consequences of the incident.

The Supara Chunkurchak ethno-complex was built in 2013 by entrepreneur Tāabaldy Egemberdiev according to his own architectural drawings.

"Drawing on his creative vision and rich intellectual heritage, we intend to remain faithful to the original concept and revive Supara Chunkurchak, continuing the work of the founder," the statement reads.

At the same time, the administration has not yet named the timeframe for the restoration of the damaged facilities and the amount of damage caused.
