Kyrgyz citizens in Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg advised to step up security measures

The Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Belgium has urged Kyrgyz citizens in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg to observe security measures amid mass protests and demonstrations in several European countries. Diplomats advise avoiding crowded places and taking into account possible transport disruptions.

In its appeal, the embassy recommended that Kyrgyz citizens:

• refrain from participating in protests, demonstrations and other mass gatherings;
• avoid crowded places, especially areas where protest actions are held;
• comply with the instructions of local authorities and law enforcement agencies;
• monitor the situation through official sources and local media;
• if necessary, alter travel routes taking into account street closures and public transport restrictions.
